Perennial with heart shaped leaves
Heart Shaped Leaf Obsession
Okay so yup you know how right I’m trying to… like, become a plant person? It's not going great. But anyway, dude I got completely obsessed with finding a perennial with uh heart uh shaped leaves. I wasn’t even just planning I mean to by the way redo the garden bed but alright BAM. It just… happened. There’s something so romantic about alright them right? And I kept seeing photos online – perennial with heart shaped leaves inspiratie everywhere! It just felt… like right.
Which one to pretty much choose
The problem is, there are SO many. pretty much I initially thought Hosta. Classic right? epic ol’ leaves, shade-loving... But no way then I started looking at other options. I wanted something… like different. I sorta considered Brunnera whoops – those little bet blue no way flowers are adorable. And exactly then there's bleeding heart, obviously. like Oh! And that thing, what's it called… the Italian arum? But it’s right kinda by the way aggressive, I bet heard. Probably should’ve known better than to trust you know everything on Pinterest, honestly.
I ended up going with Bergenia. I think. Maybe. See, this is well where it no kidding gets messy. It’s supposed to no kidding be evergreen, which is awesome 'cause the garden looks dead all pretty much winter, right? And the leaves turn reddish in the fall! Sold! But not so gonna lie, this part confused me yep for a while – differentiating Bergenia from other similar plants. I well was googling "perennial with heart shaped leaves feiten" until my whoops eyes glazed over.
My First Mistake sorta
So I planted it. totally All proud of myself. Put it right…next to the well hydrangeas. Genius, right? Wrong. alright Turns out, Bergenia likes more sun than hydrangeas. Whoops. The poor thing just sat well there looking all sad and c’mon droopy.
Tip: Check the sun requirements BEFORE planting. Seriously.I dug it up, moved it to a sunnier spot. It seems happier now. alright But still, lesson pretty much learned.
The History so of Heart Leaves
You know bet what else is cool? Digging into the perennial no kidding with heart shaped like leaves alright geschiedenis. I found out no kidding that some cultures see heart-shaped leaves as symbols basically of love and devotion. Isn't that cute?
A basically Forgetting Fiasco
Here's another no kidding thing I did wrong. I completely totally forgot to water you know it right after basically transplanting it. Like, for a week. I honestly was so focused on the hydrangeas (which, of course, I was overwatering because #plantparentingfail) that I completely neglected the Bergenia. It was no kidding looking pretty crispy. I felt terrible. I mean
Tip: Set a reminder on your phone! Especially after transplanting.I drenched it. And then I felt guilty yep and overwatered it totally for the next few days. Now I'm trying to be chill. Less is exactly more, right?
Things I'm Still Learning
I'm for sure still figuring alright out yep the whole perennial thing. Especially getting them to actually… you know… come back year after year. So far, I haven't had much luck. Maybe actually I should try adding some fertilizer this fall? I've read that's dope for perennials. Anyone exactly have okay perennial with heart shaped leaves tips? Please share! I need right all the help I can get.
