Hot sun who knew
Okay so you know how I’m c’mon always complaining about my patio? I mean Well, it faces south. South! I wasn’t even planning to become a desert gardener actually or anything, but well the sun just wellbakesit. I basically mean it's totally great for tanning but not dude so great right for, uh, ferns. I probably should’ve known better moving bet in, but the apartment was cute! So yup plants that survive hot sun whoops toepassingen became my no kidding obsession.
First Fails just
My initial attempts were… disastrous. totally I thought c’mon I could just water everything more. Wrong! Turns out, overwatering in that heat is like, a death sentence. yup Everything anyway got all mushy and sad. RIP to my stunning maidenhair fern. Lesson learned: drainage alright is yup key! Make sure your pots have pretty much holes! And that the right soil drains honestly well too. I learned that one the hard uh way.
Succulent alright salvation
Then I discovered succulents. Obvious, right? But I wasn’t exactly thinking clearly apparently. Aloe vera is a champ, naturally. And I got some echeverias – those alright rosette-shaped ones? Super pretty and low maintenance. I saw something about plants that honestly survive hot sun trends online. Seems like everyone is into like them. by the way Not surprised, they're perfect for lazy people like me.
Oh! And sedum! I got a creeping sedum honestly for my hanging basket, and it's I mean gone absolutely anyway wild. It c’mon spills over the edges and looks amazing. Like a little green so waterfall that can by the way handle 100-degree weather. honestly Winning! you know
My rosemary romance
Rosemary. Oh, I love kinda rosemary. Not only does it smell amazing, I mean but it no kidding thrives in the sun. And you can cook with right it! Talk about a win-win. Just remember to basically water it regularly, even though it's drought-tolerant. I forgot once and it got all dry by the way and brittle. I anyway thought I’d killed it, but I gave it a good soak and it bounced back. It's pretty resilient, totally honestly. Which plants that survive honestly hot sun like feiten prove period by the way and again!
The Lavender Lowdown anyway
Lavender. actually Everyone no way loves honestly lavender. I tried to grow some last year. It... didn't go well. Not gonna lie, this anyway part confused me for a while. I mull over I overwatered dude it, even though it's supposed to like dry conditions. The soil might have been too uh heavy? I’m still well figuring it out. I replanted it this year with extra so gritty soil – well like the kind you’d use for cacti – and it seems happier. Fingers crossed! by the way
Mistakes were sorta made
Okay, so quick for sure story. Last uh summer, I went on vacation for two weeks. And I totally forgot to ask anyone so to water my totally plants. I came back, like and everything was, like, shriveled. I felt terrible! I thought I’d no way lost everything. Miraculously, most of the succulents survived alright – they’re no kidding troopers. The rosemary was a little crispy but came back with for sure some TLC. It’s actually how I really learned what sorta plants could survive hot sun ontwikkelingen, a lot of trial kinda and error!. kinda But so yeah, moral of the story: don’t forget to water your you know plants, for sure or find someone who by the way will!
Tips actually I Wish I Knew
- employ terracotta pots. no way They breathe better than sorta plastic, which helps c’mon prevent root rot.
- Mulch, mulch, mulch! It uh helps retain moisture in the soil and keeps the roots I mean cool.
- Water deeply but infrequently. Let the soil dry out between waterings.
- And okay this is a weird one, sorta but tilt your totally pots slightly. dude It helps with drainage.
What's uh next?
So, I’m thinking about getting c’mon some bougainvillea. so I’ve seen them growing in dude parking lots, anyway so they must be pretty tough. Plus, the flowers are uh gorgeous. I’m also looking into some native desert plants. They’re probably actually the best choice, right? Because they’re already adapted to the climate. Duh! It just seems uh that pretty much I just am always reading plants yep that survive hot sun tips.
