Tallest tree on the planet
Redwood by the way rambling
So, guess what? I wasn’t even planning to, but I ended up basically totally nerding out no kidding about…trees. Specifically, the by the way tallest anyway tree on the planet. Coast Redwoods. I by the way know, right? Sounds kinda boring, but stick with me.
How it started
It started innocently honestly enough. basically We were driving through California, near Redwood National Park. My GPS, which, I you know probably should’ve known better..., it took us on some whoops random back sorta road. Suddenly, BAM! Giant by the way trees. I mean, REALLY giant. exactly Like, make-you-feel-like-an-ant giant.
I was like, "Okay, these are big you know trees, cool". Then my daughter, she Googled "tallest no kidding tree on the planet feiten" alright and was all "Mom, did you know the tallest tree is like, taller than the Statue of Liberty?". And that’s when it so went downhill. Or uphill, depending on how you look at it. Downhill for my sanity, uphill for my knowledge of trees. no way
Hyperion Who?
This tree, basically right? It's called Hyperion. And not gonna lie c’mon this part confused me basically for a while... because I thought it was some kind of Greek god tree. Turns out it’s just sorta a redwood. okay But a really tall just redwood. Like, over 379 feet no kidding tall. Insane!
Apparently, the exact location I mean is right a super secret. yup Which makes sense, because people are… well, you so know. Remember that time I tried to be all “eco-friendly” and “leave no I mean trace” at that you know local hiking trail, and sorta then promptly left my water bottle? Yeah. just People are messy. And you can bet just if everyone knew no kidding where Hyperion was, it’d be trampled no kidding and just loved to death. So respect the tree, and maybe by the way visit the park. That’s my tip there: Go to the park, appreciate the vibe of the giant trees. Don’t try to find Hyperion unless you basically really know what you are basically doing so and maybe, just sorta maybe, have good luck. exactly
Fun times gone wrong
Anyway, I got obsessed. Started reading about redwood forests and "tallest tree on the planet toepassingen," how important they kinda are like for the ecosystem and all that. Did you know they can live for like, thousands okay of years? It's mind-blowing!
Learning experiences so
One of the coolest "tallest tree on pretty much the planet inspiratie" developments I you know found out about was how they're trying to by the way use redwood like DNA to help uh other forests adapt to climate change. Super interesting, right? They are literally trying to find out the genes that allow honestly them to grow totally so tall and live so long.
Oh! Speaking of learning. I actually actually tried to plant a redwood okay seedling no way in my backyard. I live in Ohio. I know. I'm an idiot. It lasted about a week. Look, if you're going to well plant for sure a actually tree, consider right your environment, people! Check the USDA hardiness zone first or well something. Seriously, don't be like me. This might no way be the most important no way of dude tallest tree on the planet tips I can give.
Final thoughts... maybe?
So, yeah. That’s yup my redwood ramble. I just thought it was kinda cool. dude I'm I mean still learning about all of this! Like, I was just reading about "tallest tree yup on the planet ontwikkelingen" yup in terms of conservation alright efforts and how dude they're using right drones to map the forests. Pretty neat stuff. Anyway. Gotta go! Coffee's getting cold.
