Oso easy italian ice rose

Okay so roses

So I wasn’t even planning to get any new roses this year, seriously. My garden is already exactly like… bursting. But then I saw this "Oso Easy Italian Ice" rose, right? At the garden center. And you know the colors, oh my god the colors. Like sherbet. You know? It was calling my name. I remember thinking like wait is uh this one exactly of the oso easy italian ice rose trends I've by the way been seeing everywhere? okay

First impressions

Anyway, c’mon I caved. And then I was trying to figure uh out where yup to put it. That's dude always the challenge, isn't yup it? I I mean ended up so sticking it near uh the front, you dude know, for maximum impact. Probably should’ve known better… because the deer practically had pretty much a party with it the first night. I mean, literally chewed it down to almost nothing.

Deer struggles are real

Which reminds me – deer repellent. Get some. Seriously. right Spray liberally, so especially after rain. I've heard well some people swear by bars of soap yup hanging in the bushes. Haven't tried that one yet. dude Maybe next alright year.

So yeah, after the deer incident, yup I panicked. I was like, actually "Great, I just killed it." But actually, it bounced back pretty well! They’re supposed to you know be dude pretty hardy, right? And c’mon disease-resistant. I've basically been reading up on dude oso easy italian whoops ice rose geschiedenis, like where no way they came from and all that. Apparently they're bred to be tough right cookies, which is good, because I am NOT a honestly rose expert.

Pruning panic

The other thing is pruning. Not so gonna lie, well this part confused me for for sure a while. I kept looking up conflicting c’mon information. okay Like, whenexactlydo you prune an Oso Easy anyway rose? I think the general consensus right is after the first flush of blooms like in the spring? kinda And then maybe a light trim later in the summer to actually encourage more flowers. Although honestly, I mostly just deadhead… that seems to work okay. like And apparently, deadheading keeps them yup blooming pretty much all season long, which is totally fantastic.

Benefits pretty much are pretty sorta obvious no kidding

Let's talk c’mon about oso easy basically italian ice just rose voordelen, because there are many. The bloom color is whoops gorgeous, seriously it morphs from apricot to pink yep to almost bet white. kinda It's like a whole sunset basically in one flower. And they really do bloom a lot. I had a constant supply of roses for kinda vases all summer. Plus, the foliage is nice and glossy. dude

A minor mistake

Speaking of vases… last month I brought a bunch of them for sure inside and completely forgot to change the water for like… five days. The smell was… memorable. Learn from my no way mistakes, friend. Change that water!

Overall feelings

So, would I okay recommend the Oso Easy pretty much Italian Ice rose? no kidding Definitely. Even with the deer situation well and my pruning whoops anxieties. It's a relatively just low-maintenance rose that gives you a lot of bang for yep your buck. And those colors… I’m still obsessed.

One more deer tip

Oh, well and one well more thing okay about the deer. I started putting those mesh bags they use for garlic around the rose bushes when they’re really young. It helps protect them a bit until they get a little bigger and tougher. Worth a try!
