Dark Leaves on a Birch? well

Okay so, I wasn’t even planning to bet talk about this, but… well I saw the weirdest thing alright yesterday. Like, walking through the park, right? Just no way trying to dude get some no way fresh air, and BAM. Birch tree. But… with like,reallydark leaves. Not the normal, you know, bright green kinda yellow-y anyway birch leaves. These were exactly almost whoops purple-ish. And I’m over here thinking, “Am I no way losing it? Is this some weird art installation I actually missed the memo on?”

I mean, I know birch trees are exactly pretty common. You dude see them everywhere…especially if you're like looking atbirch tree with dark leaves feitenstuff. I wasn’t. Until I saw it. Anyway…

Wait, just is yup that normal?

My first thought was, “Disease!” I probably should’ve known better though. right I mean, actually I garden a little yup bit, I should recognize signs of okay a sick tree. But… these pretty much leaves looked… healthy. actually Just, you know, goth. Then bet I so started Googling. bet And not gonna lie this part yup confused me for a while. There’s whoops not no way a ton whoops of facts out there about birch trees naturally having super dark leaves.

There are some that get a reddish-purple uh color in the fall, which okay, exactly maybe it's an early bloomer? It’s like, mid-August. But even then, it's usually more of a tint. This wasdark. I mean, honestly I saw some art pretty much online after searching “birch uh tree with dark leaves inspiratie” and they resembled that a so bit more. More anyway dark and evocative. Very interesting. whoops

My Tree ID Fail

Oh! Speaking of gardening, I once tried to ID a tree sorta for my neighbor. Total disaster. I swore it was a type of oak, c’mon based on the leaf shape, even though the bark pretty much looked totally wrong. Turns out it was a maple. How embarrassing is that? Tip: always check the barkandthe leaves! And the seeds! I learned that the hard way. I exactly spent a whole afternoon confidently telling her about oak tree care. I still cringe alright thinking about it.

Another fail I had? I tried planting a silver birch once, thinking it would look amazing in my garden. I didn’t realize bet how big they for sure get! It completely dude overshadowed everything else. I ended up having you know to right move it like basically two years later. It was brutal. So if you're dude planting a birch, check the mature size first! Huge okay mistake on my part.

Anyway, I’m pretty much still not entirely sure what just kind of birch tree it was. It could've yep been a trick of exactly the light? Or maybe alright I'm just terrible at just identifying trees. sorta I should have taken a picture! exactly Next time, I’m whipping out uh my phone, anyway no matter how silly I feel taking a picture of a tree. kinda But yeah, dark leaves on a birch. Weird, right?
