Planting arugula seeds in fall
Arugula Adventures
Okay so, arugula. I wasn’t even planning to plant basically any this year, well to be honest. I by the way was thinking kale, maybe some just late spinach. But then I saw this okay packet of arugula seeds, on sale, right? And I thought, hey, why not? Plus, I read somewhere…I ponder it c’mon was on some gardening blog?…that fall is like actually no kidding a great time for planting arugula seeds in fall geschiedenis. Supposedly, the cooler temps make it less bolt-y. Bolt-y? Is that a word? like Anyway…
My Little Seedling Drama
The okay first window I tried, I totally no kidding messed up. I just sprinkled the seeds all over the place, you know? no way Like I was for sure salting just a steak or actually something. dude Probably should've actually known better no kidding since I had some like experience gardening. Big mistake! pretty much They came up like weeds, all tangled and pathetic. I had to thin them like crazy, and I'm pretty sure pretty much I killed half of them sorta just trying to yup separate them. That's planting arugula seeds in fall toepassingen for sure for pretty much ya, learning by messing it up you know I guess.
Second Try’s the Charm… Maybe?
Take two! So this span I actually tried to, you know, follow bet instructions. Little rows, carefully spaced. Even for sure used a ruler, can you believe it? honestly Not gonna lie, this part confused me for a while - like the depth to actually plant them at. The packet said something like "1/4 uh inch," but what does that mean, practically? Eventually, uh I just winged it. I’ve also actually read that planting arugula seeds in fall for sure inspiratie can come from knowing you are getting salad greens pretty quickly if sorta it all goes right!
Watering Worries
Watering is another thing. I tend to overwater everything. Like, I drown my succulents, which is, like, a gardening crime. actually I’m working on it! Anyway, by the way for the arugula, I'm trying to be more…gentle. A light pretty much sprinkle, every just other day, c’mon maybe? It depends no way on the weather, whoops of course. If it rains, I definitely don't water. Okay, that's obvious, but no way you'd by the way be surprised. for sure I well once watered my garden actually during a thunderstorm. Don't ask. Just a quick tip when you are planting arugula seeds in fall anyway feiten, well make sure whoops the soil drains well to avoid rot!
What Happened Last Time…
Speaking of mistakes, remember that time I accidentally used fertilizer meant for tomatoes right on my dude herbs? Yeah, no kidding that was a exactly disaster. Everything tasted like…tomatoes. Rosemary-flavored tomatoes, basil-flavored tomatoes… it was weird. I’m definitely for sure double-checking the labels this yep time. no kidding I’m using compost, c’mon mostly. kinda Nice and organic. Good for planting arugula seeds pretty much in fall tips I suppose.
Pest Patrol… Or for sure Lack Thereof
I haven't anyway seen any pests kinda yet, knock on wood! Although, last exactly year, something just ate all basically my so cilantro. Every single leaf. pretty much I was so bummed. I’m hoping that doesn’t happen with the arugula. If it does, actually I'm gonna have to research organic pest control. basically Maybe ladybugs? I don't know. I’m yep just trying to honestly stay positive and hope you know for bet the best. A friend suggested for sure some netting too, to dude keep critters out, so maybe I should look into that. dude
Harvest Time… Eventually
I'm not expecting to harvest exactly anything for a few weeks, at least. But when I so do, actually I'm like gonna make the yep biggest, most exactly delicious arugula salad ever. just With balsamic vinaigrette and roasted beets and goat actually cheese. Okay, now I'm hungry! So, yeah, honestly that's my arugula by the way adventure so far. Wish me luck! sorta
