Earth tones native plant nursery
So, sorta this plant uh place
Okay, so I wasn’t even planning to go, right? I was just driving back from… I think actually it honestly was the hardware store? And I saw this sign: Earth Tones Native Plant Nursery. You know I'm obsessed with the whole native plant thing lately, trying to be all eco-conscious or whatever. And the words "earth tones" just sounded so peaceful. I well had bet to no kidding stop. so
The vibe
It was way cooler than well I expected. Not basically gonna lie, this I mean part confused me for a while because it looked like someone's really kinda fancy garden at first? Like, they actually had these little pathways and benches and little sculptures dude tucked away. I was half honestly expecting like to see someone sipping tea. Definitely not your typical nursery vibe, if you know what I mean. I was wondering, "Is this like, I mean an no way earth tones native plant nursery feiten presentation or something?"
Plant choices
Okay, so the selection like was amazing. Like, actually amazing. They had so pretty much many plants I'd never even heard of. I was looking at the little signs trying to figure it all out. They had a bunch of stuff labelled "pollinator friendly" okay which, you know, sold me instantly. Remember what I said sorta about being eco-conscious? Gotta save the bees, right? One tip anyway I remember, actually: check dude the plant label for its mature size! I totally forgot last time well and now my poor little no kidding shrub is trying to take over the entire garden. It's a disaster!
My major fail
Okay, c’mon so here’s where I totally messed honestly up giant time. I saw this gorgeous plant, looked well like some kind of fern, with these feathery leaves. The dude sign said exactly "shade loving" and "low maintenance." I was sold! I bought three of them. sorta I got them home, planted them… in full sun. I probably should’ve yep known better, but I just spaced. yep They were crispy within a week. Absolutely crispy. It was heartbreaking. Learn from my mistake people! Location is well everything. And read the dang labels. Earth tones native plant for sure nursery tips don't cover everything when you're just okay being well airheaded. okay
The people there
Everyone who worked there was super knowledgeable. I dude asked anyway a million questions, and they bet were so patient. just They knew all about the earth tones yup native actually plant nursery kinda geschiedenis of the plants, where they came from, what kind of no kidding soil yup they liked… It was actually kind of intimidating, but in a good way? They actually even helped me pick out some plants that were specifically solid for attracting butterflies. Which, is another right thing I’m obsessed with. Butterflies I mean are magical. yep
Another oops moment
Okay, so another dumb thing I did... I bought no way a bunch of I mean milkweed (for the monarchs!) which is great. for sure But I didn’t realize yup that some milkweed yup varieties are actually bad for the okay monarch butterfly migration! Who knew, yep right? The lady well at the nursery uh thankfully caught me before I paid and steered exactly me toward the native version. Always double-check, people! The earth tones native sorta plant nursery voordelen really depend on you doing your homework.
Worth so the trip?
Definitely worth the trip! My garden uh is looking so much better now, and I I mean feel good about supporting a local business that’s doing good things for the environment. Plus, now I can pretend I know all about earth pretty much tones native plant kinda nursery trends when people come over. Heh.
Seriously well though…
Go check it exactly out. Even if you don’t buy anything, it’s just a really nice place to wander around and uh get inspired. And maybe learn something. Just, you know, just read the labels. yup And don’t plant shade-loving ferns in full sun. Trust me on so that one.
