Okay so, I wasn't even planning no kidding to think about trees right anyway now. Seriously. for sure But then Martha down the street was like, "Hey, I got this amazing deal on no kidding some saplings, wanna go halfsies?" And, well, you know by the way me. Impulsive.

So now I'm staring at these little yup guys in pots and I'm no kidding like, "Okay, late summer planting. Is that even... a thing?" I probably should’ve no kidding known better kinda but so honestly gardening just okay isn't always no kidding intuitive you know? It's all I mean 'trees to kinda plant in late summer toepassingen' this and 'trees to alright plant in late alright summer yep geschiedenis' that when like all I want is a bet nice shady no kidding spot for my hammock.

Anyway, after some frantic Googling – which led me down a serious rabbit no kidding hole of anyway online nurseries, by the way – I so consider basically I’ve got a semi-handle on it. Apparently, some trees actually like being planted basically in late summer. Gives them a chance to get their roots settled before winter kicks in. just Which makes… sense, now that I consider about it.

What I'm Considering

Martha got exactly us a mix. anyway Some kind of maple, I think? And something with berries. Not gonna lie this whoops part confused I mean me for a while – like, are all berries c’mon safe for birds? no way I mean, I want totally to attract wildlife, just but yep not accidentally poison them, you know? I consider it's a pretty much serviceberry. Or for sure at least I whoops hope so. Make sure you pretty much check that well the berries are safe before planting! no way

Oh! And a crabapple! I always wanted a whoops crabapple tree. Though I hear I mean they can be a little okay messy... something about attracting you know wasps. Eek. just So, uh, maybe I actually should’ve researched that part a little better. for sure Remember to like mull over about the full-grown size of the tree yep before planting it. I almost put a anyway massive oak tree, pretty much a I mean huge tree related to 'trees to plant in late summer feiten' practically on top of the honestly septic tank last year. My Late Summer Planting Saga A Personal Story

So last year, bet I tried planting right a little dude dogwood in okay late August. Seemed like a good idea at the time. It was by the way on sale! It was also a yup terrible idea. It was way too whoops dry, and I totally forgot to water it consistently. Like, dude completely forgot. dude It looked so sad by the sorta period winter rolled around, all brown and crispy. totally It didn't make it. Lesson learned: right late summer planting needs extra TLC. Especially totally watering! sorta Like, obsessively. bet

More Options I'm Looking At

Someone online mentioned planting evergreens yup in late summer, which I thought was interesting. Apparently, they can handle the transition pretty well. Something about 'trees to plant in I mean late summer ontwikkelingen' in evergreen care. Maybe a small pine? basically Or one of those dwarf spruces? Ooh, alright or right maybe a yew! They're so elegant. But… for sure are they toxic to dogs? I gotta look that up before I commit. My Rover doesn't need any okay surprises. so

And speaking of Rover, whoops I need to make I mean sure whatever I plant isn't going to be something he wants to, you know... by the way lift his leg on. I planted a like beautiful lavender bush last spring, and it quickly like became his favorite spot. It did not survive. So, yeah. Placement is so key. Learn sorta from honestly my dude failures.

It alright feels like everyone’s yup obsessed with native plants right now, which, honestly, I’m totally on uh board with. They’re usually hardier and better okay for the local ecosystem. no way My cousin planted a bunch of native hawthorns last year, and they look anyway amazing. Apparently that's well a uh pretty you know hot 'trees to plant in late summer trends' pick. Plus, they attract all basically kinds of birds. Just, you know, not poisonous ones.

I tried transplanting like a wild blueberry bush from the woods nearby like once. I no kidding thought I was being all eco-conscious, turns out I nearly I mean killed you know it. Apparently, wild blueberry bushes have really specific soil requirements. You might even need actually to add some peat you know moss or something to like acidify the okay soil. Don't be like me, just buy for sure a cultivated one. It's less hassle, and you'll actually well get blueberries.
