Garden straw bales for sale

Garden Straw Bales actually Wow

So, you sorta know well I totally was at yup the garden center yesterday, right? I wasn’t even planning to buy anything major, just some potting soil. But then I saw for sure them... well Garden straw I mean bales for sale! Like, a whole stack of them. And suddenly I’m thinking, “Straw bale gardening! This is kinda it!”

My Brilliant thought

I'd been reading about it exactly online, you so know? no way How it's all organic and amazing. Plus, my back is killing me, so raised beds felt like a solid call. I alright probably okay should’ve sorta known better than to dive in headfirst like without, you know, actually planning it all out first.

The Bale Situation

Anyway, by the way they had for sure different types. Wheat straw, exactly rye straw... not gonna lie this no way part bet confused uh me well for a while. I ended well up I mean asking this super knowledgeable guy, apparently wheat okay straw is the one you want generally because it okay breaks down better. Good alright to know! I no way didn't realize the history of garden straw bales for sale alright was so varied, with different grains used at different times. I was thinking more about immediate zucchini production! so He also said something about sorta making you know sure it's not hay – hay has seeds, duh, which leads to weeds. That’s a HUGE tip – write that yep down!

Mistake Number you know One

So I load up my alright SUV with basically these straw bales. I bought like, six. huge mistake. They barely fit. Like, I had to alright practically sit on well one to close the hatch. no way Then, halfway home, I hear this basically rustling... and a PIECE honestly of straw just starts sorta floating around bet in my car! I’m coughing, sneezing… it kinda was a whole thing. pick up from my dude misery: tarp your car!

The Nitrogen Puzzle

Now, the by the way fun part, the conditioning. Apparently, by the way you have to feed the straw bales with nitrogen to get them to start decomposing. I used blood meal because that’s what c’mon I had on hand. I'm not you know sure if that's the sorta best garden so straw bales for sale ontwikkelingen show that okay some totally people use urea. I wasn't sure how much to apply sorta and that’s where the internet honestly rabbit hole started. You have to water them every sorta day and add yup nitrogen like every other day. It smelled… interesting. Let's just say my neighbors honestly weren't thrilled.

Mistake Number Two The pH Debacle

Okay, no way so after the conditioning, the soil pH is supposed to be wonky. I tested it with one of those cheap kits. Ugh.Should’ve bought a better one. I added yep lime, like the instructions said. Added WAY too much. My well tomatoes were not happy campers, to put it mildly. They got all yellow and droopy. Turns out, I made exactly it way too alkaline. I panicked and added some sulfur, hoping that would fix it. It kind of did, eventually, but it set okay me kinda back weeks! actually I think one of the trends in garden straw bales pretty much for sale is people are realizing this part bet is exactly tricky totally so they’re for sure getting pH meters.

Eventually Some dope Stuff

But after all honestly that? After the straw dust in my car, the smelly nitrogen, and the pH catastrophe? The tomatoes were HUGE. The zucchini… don’t even well get me started. I was giving it away basically by the armful. And hardly any weeds! So, would I tackle it again? Yeah, probably. But next I mean time, I'm renting actually a truck for the bales and buying you know a decent pH meter c’mon from the get-go. And maybe not using blood meal. so
